Email news: your privacy

Updated 17 October 2026

This page only covers the news box on the guides page. Downloading the guides doesn't ask for any data.

What I keep

Your email, the page language and the date you confirmed. Nothing else. To stop bots, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person (it only loads when you use the box), and for less than 2 hours I keep an irreversible code computed from your IP address. The IP itself is never stored.

What it's for

Only to send you Alpine Lynx news: new apps, guides and tools, tips, and what changes in the apps. There's no fixed number: I only write when I have something useful to share. I don't sell or pass on your email to anyone.

Who helps me

Supabase (servers in Ireland) stores the request and the confirmation. Brevo (France) keeps the list and sends the emails. Cloudflare serves this site and runs the anti-bot check. Brevo emails can record whether they were opened and which links were clicked; I only look at the totals, to see whether the emails are useful.

Legal basis

Your consent, given in two steps: you enter your email here and confirm through the link I send you. Swiss law applies (revDSG) and, in the EU, the GDPR (Art. 6(1)(a)).

How long

Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days. Once you confirm, I keep the data while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, the emails stop right away, and I delete your record before the next send.

Your rights

You can see, correct or delete your data and withdraw your consent at any time. To leave, use the link at the end of any email. For anything else, write to me: the email is at the bottom of the page.
